SEAI Commercial Solar Grants
The SEAI Non-Domestic Microgen Grant helps eligible Irish businesses and organisations invest in solar PV. Funding is available for qualifying systems up to 1,000kWp, with the grant amount calculated according to the installed system capacity.

What You Need to Know
Grant approval must be received before purchasing equipment or beginning installation work. The solar PV system must be installed by an SEAI-registered Non-Domestic Microgen company and designed primarily to generate electricity for use at the applicant’s premises.
The appropriate grid-connection application must also be submitted to ESB Networks before installation. The exact application process depends on the proposed system and export capacity.

Surplus electricity may be exported to the grid, subject to the applicable connection and export arrangements. Directly using generated electricity within the business is generally an important part of system planning.
The programme depends on the installation size, site access, engineering requirements, grant approval, grid-connection process, equipment availability and weather. A project timeline can be provided after the initial assessment.
Some temporary disruption may be required during electrical connection and commissioning. Access arrangements and any necessary shutdowns are planned with the business before work begins.
Solar PV is generally low maintenance, but the system should still be monitored and inspected periodically. Alerts, unexpected reductions in output and visible equipment issues should be investigated.
