SEAI Commercial Solar Grants
The SEAI Non-Domestic Microgen Grant helps eligible Irish businesses and organisations invest in solar PV. Funding is available for qualifying systems up to 1,000kWp, with the grant amount calculated according to the installed system capacity.
The scheme may support:
-
Businesses and commercial properties
-
Farms and agricultural enterprises
-
Schools and public-sector bodies
-
Community centres
-
Non-profit organisations
What You Need to Know
Grant approval must be received before purchasing equipment or beginning installation work. The solar PV system must be installed by an SEAI-registered Non-Domestic Microgen company and designed primarily to generate electricity for use at the applicant’s premises.
The appropriate grid-connection application must also be submitted to ESB Networks before installation. The exact application process depends on the proposed system and export capacity.
EnergieXPro can help assess the proposed system, prepare the relevant technical information, support the grant-documentation process and manage the applicable ESB Networks connection application.
*The maximum grant of €162,600 applies to eligible systems of 1,000kWp. The amount available depends on system capacity, qualifying expenditure and the SEAI scheme conditions in effect when you apply.

Commercial Solar for Mayo Businesses and Farms
EnergieXPro designs and installs commercial solar PV systems for businesses, farms and organisations throughout County Mayo. Every system is planned around the property’s energy usage, operating hours, available roof space and electrical requirements.
Hotels and Hospitality
Commercial solar panels can help Mayo hotels, guesthouses and hospitality venues generate electricity for lighting, kitchens, refrigeration, heating systems and other daytime energy demands.
Farms and Agricultural Businesses
Solar panels for Mayo farms can generate electricity for dairy equipment, milk cooling, pumps, ventilation, lighting, workshops and agricultural processing machinery.
Retail and Office Buildings
Retail units and office buildings can use commercial solar PV to power lighting, computers, air conditioning, refrigeration, EV chargers and everyday business equipment.
Manufacturing Facilities
Factories and production facilities with consistent daytime electricity demand can use larger commercial solar systems to support machinery, processing equipment and site operations.
Warehouses and Distribution Centres
Large warehouse roofs can provide valuable installation space for commercial solar panels, helping generate electricity for lighting, refrigeration, equipment and logistics operations.
Schools and Community Facilities
Schools, sports clubs, healthcare providers and community organisations can install solar PV systems designed around their building usage and available roof space.
Power Your Business with Commercial Solar
Commercial solar panels allow businesses to generate renewable electricity directly at their premises. The electricity produced can be used to operate machinery, lighting, refrigeration, heating systems, office equipment, EV chargers and other daytime electrical loads. EnergieXPro designs commercial solar PV systems for factories, farms, warehouses, hotels, shops, offices and organisations across Mayo. Each recommendation is informed by the property, electricity-consumption data and available roof or ground space.

Energy Storage & Tariffs in Ireland
Store extra solar energy in a home battery to use when rates are high, or sell it back to the grid under the Clean Export Guarantee and earn up to 25c per kWh. The best choice depends on your usage:

Battery storage
ideal if you use most energy at night or want to avoid peak rates.

Feed-in tariff
best for large systems with daytime surplus.
Either way, you’ll cut bills, make the most of your solar, and reduce your carbon footprint.

Frequently Asked Questions
The cost depends on the proposed capacity, equipment selection, mounting system, roof condition, site access and required electrical work. Adding battery storage or commercial EV chargers will also affect the overall investment. A site-specific assessment is needed for an accurate quotation.
Suitability is determined by factors such as electricity consumption, available roof or ground space, orientation, shading, structural condition and electrical infrastructure. These details are reviewed during the assessment and technical-design stages.
Many agricultural buildings have useful roof space and electrical demand from refrigeration, pumps, ventilation, lighting or processing equipment. However, the installation must be designed around the farm’s actual consumption, building condition and available grid connection.
Eligible businesses and organisations can apply for the SEAI Non-Domestic Microgen Grant. Approval depends on the applicant and project meeting the current scheme requirements. The grant value is calculated according to the installed solar PV capacity.
Electricity that is not consumed or stored at the premises may be exported to the grid, subject to the applicable grid-connection and export arrangements. The value of self-consumption and export should be considered when designing the system.
Commercial solar PV systems are relatively low maintenance, but performance should be monitored and equipment inspected periodically. Unexpected reductions in generation, system alerts or visible damage should be investigated.
